The Best Beaches in Mallorca

Known for its crystal clear water, vibrant blue tones and long-secret sandy bays, Mallorca boasts some of the best beaches in the Mediterranean, and we have put together our favourites for you to discover when you want to venture away from your luxury villa in Mallorca.

Cala Formentor

Head over the Formentor peninsula and you will discover this beautiful narrow beach which is lined with pine trees. Lots of people head here via boat, which you can hire from Puerto Pollensa. The water is wonderfully blue and you have views across the Bay of Pollensa, with all the boats moored up nearby – bliss!

Cala Mesquida

Stretching for over 300 meters, Cala Mesquida is a firm favourite at The Villa Edit. The crystal clear water remains shallow quite far out, so it is great for those travelling with kids and one side of the beach is made up of natural dunes and pine trees, so there is plenty to explore. At the other side of the beach, there is a small beach bar – it is pretty basic but is ideal for a long lunch when the heat gets too much.

Sa Calobra

Picture perfect beaches don’t get better than Sa Calobra. To get to this beach you have to walk through a long tunnel in the mountainside, and when you pop out the other side you are greeted by paradise. The beach has small stones instead of sand, but the water is incredibly clear that we’re sure you won’t be disappointed.

Es Calo des Moro

Found on the south of the island, Es Calo des Moro is arguably one of the most beautiful beaches due to its location and rural charm. A private foundation owns and looks after this beach, so it’s beautifully maintained and you won’t see any hotels or beach bars here – plan in advance and make sure you bring drinks and some food. This isn’t the most child-friendly beach as you do have to climb down several rocks to get there, but the challenge makes it even more special. Es Calo des Moro is one of Mallorca’s best kept secret beaches that everyone knows about.

Cala Pi

Getting its name ‘Pi’ from the pine trees that surround it, Cala Pi is a stunning beach located on the south-central coast of Mallorca, in the district of Llucmajor, approximately 40 km east of Palma. The deep blue waters of this fjord-like estuary form a breath-taking contrast to the bright sandy beach and the grey cliffs. This is a relaxed beach and is protected by the cliffs on either side, making it feel really secluded, as well as being protected from the winds.

Cala Falco

The idyllic beach of Cala Falco is an oasis in the South West of Mallorca. This charming cove is known for its fine-sand beach, tranquil waters & low-key dining options. There is a chic Ibiza style restaurant perfect for long lunches called Cap Falco. The small beach club and restaurant offer a stylish setting to relax overlooking the glistening waters of the Cala.

Es Trenc

Es Trenc is one of the best-known beaches on the island of Mallorca because of its Caribbean blue waters and bright white sand. This gorgeous sandy beach is about 10 km long and extends from Sa Ràpita to Colònia de Sant Jordi. The beach has shallow, calm water and is very popular with families.
