One of our all time favorite islands, Mallorca is a must try destination for an ultimate luxury villa holiday. It’s mix of rugged beauty, plethora of lovely secluded beaches and action packed historical towns offer everything you could wish for from a Mediterranean summer escape.
Our villas are dotted around the island, so we can help choose the area that suits you best. The island is small, so you can easily drive from one side of the island to another in an hour and it’s well worth exploring. A short drive from your luxury villa you can wander around port towns such as Anthrax, on the East coast, with it’s boutique shops and trendy bars or in the North, Pollença is a vibrant historical town with cafes, shops, art galleries and an impressive main square.
A trip into the island’s capital Palma is essential with its Moorish influence and gothic cathedral that dates back to the 14th Century. The upmarket shops, buzzing restaurants and contemporary nightlife offer a heady mix of modern boho glamour. Palmas also has a vibrant art scene with plenty of museums, galleries, and music festivals throughout the year. The scenic bay of Palma stretches out along the South coast of the island and is dotted with fantastic waterfront restaurants, beach bars and exclusive superyacht marinas.
Just along the coast from Palma the Las Terrazas beach club at Illetes beach (10 minutes drive) is worth a visit for its incredible sun terrace perfect for sundowners or drop down to Cap Falco beach for lunch at its laid back ‘Ibiza style’ beach restaurant.
Mallorca is famous for its exceptional cuisine from delicious local tapas to Michelin star restaurants and we recommend a trip to the hilltop village of Deia to check out one of their many incredible restaurants like the two star Michelin Es Racó d’es Teix.
For adventurous travellers a luxury yacht charter or boat trip can be arranged to dive in hidden coves or take lunch on board, surrounded by aqua blue vistas. If cycling or hiking is your passion, a trip to the northern tip of Mallorca and the Cap de Formentor is a must. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a 20-kilometre peninsula or rugged coves and cliffs northeast of the Port of Pollença and is perfect for photo opportunities and bird watching.
We don’t do ordinary here. We are a small team of experienced travel specialists, no request is too big or too small, so please do ask for our help in finding you the perfect luxury holiday villa in Majorca to rent.
Best for sundowners
Roxy Beach, Portals Nous – Rustic luxury – with incredible sunset views.
Best restaurants
Ombu, Palma – This is a stylish tapas and cocktail bar serving dishes that fuses flavours from all around the world together. Its convenient central location, opposite the impressive Plaza de la Reina fountain, makes it a magnet for visitors and the outdoor tables are often full.
Es Racó d’es Teix, Deia – 2 Star Michelin restaurant – 5* incredible service and views.
Abbaco, Pollenca – a new restaurant in Port de Pollença offering a fusion of cuisines. It’s all beautifully presented plus their beach-facing terrace provides the perfect spot to soak up the bay views.
Ca’s Patro March – A popular seafood restaurant located at Deià’s famous Cala. Built into the rock is a stone terrace covered in rustic tables overlooking the crystal clear water of the beautiful Cala Deià. Enjoy fresh fish caught by local fishermen and a variety of tapas at this rustic hangout.
Best for exploring
Valdemossa is our favourite town to explore with its narrow cobblestone streets, dramatic terraced vistas and boutique shopping.
Palma cathedral is a magnificent 14th Century Gothic Cathedral centred at the heart of the bustling city.
Pollença, a vibrant historical town with cafes, shops, art galleries and an impressive main square.
Mallorca essential visit
Bar Abaco, Palma – Stunning hidden courtyard bar in the heart of Palma adorned with flowers, fountains, fruit and birdcages of songbirds.
Best Beaches
Cap Falco – This charming cove is known for its fine-sand beachfront, tranquil waters & low-key dining options. There is a chic Ibiza style restaurant perfect for long lunches.
Es Trenc – This gorgeous sandy beach is about 10 km long and extends from Sa Ràpita to Colònia de Sant Jordi. The beach has shallow, calm water and is very popular with families.
Cala Pi – Cal Pi is located on the south-central coast of Mallorca, in the district of Llucmajor, approximately 40 km east of Palma. The deep blue waters of this fjord-like estuary form a breath-taking contrast to the bright sandy beach and the grey cliffs.
May and June on the island of Mallorca see everything spring into bloom and it’s a gorgeous time to visit. July and August see record temperatures around the 30s and lazing by the pool of your luxury villa are idyllic. Temperatures drop to mid-twenties in September and October but the island is less busy and it’s a wonderful time to go.
Majorca has an airport, Son Sant Joan airport, which is five miles east of Palma.
Hiring a car is essential if you want to explore the delights of this incredible island yet it can be extremely busy with long queues at the airport during the summer months. Please do ask our team if you would like a luxury vehicle delivered to your private Majorca villa on arrival.
We recommend hiring a boat for the day to explore some of the more hidden coves and beaches around the island, just let us know what you’d like to do and our team will be able to organise something extra special.
Our website offers a small flavour of the many houses we work with and some of our owners prefer to remain anonymous.
